Former 'Top Gear' Presenters Attempt to Explain What 'The Grand Tour' Really Is
And they’re stumbling over their own words.
BBC’s former Top Gear trio Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May have teamed up again for another motoring television show titled The Grand Tour for Amazon Video. To promote the new series, the British threesome filmed a teaser to convince fans to tune in, but they seem to be at a loss for words. The hilarious clip is riddled with classic British jargon and self-deprecation, “It’s three middle-aged men in poor condition” with “bad teeth and hangovers” says Clarkson. “And occasionally, a car goes by.” Their earnestness is affective, but don’t set your expectations low. Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos described the deal as being “very, very, very expensive,” so you can confidently anticipate top-notch production, technology, and commentary. The Grand Tour is scheduled for release in the United States and United Kingdom on Amazon Video starting from November 18 on a weekly basis.
