The first blend, called Red Rye Finish, will drop with along with a series of parties across Europe.
In anticipation of the launch of its new experimental Blenders’ Batch series, Johnnie Walker is kicking off a tour of events around Europe in partnership with NTS Radio and talented restauranteur, Missy Flynn. Curated and live-streamed by NTS, the events will feature the underground sounds that have defined the collective since its inception in 2011 as a platform for record collectors, musicians and DJs to share their interest in cutting-edge music, and inspire music lovers globally.
The event circuit, will serve the first of the Blenders’ Batch range, called Red Rye Finish, kicks off in in Amsterdam on November 2, before moving on to Berlin and Madrid. The parties will feature four special long mixed drinks created by Missy, ensuring that Red Rye can be enjoyed mixed or neat. Also showcasing at the parties will be exclusive 360 VR films, which will make their way online later, following the events.
Experimenting with flavor notes like coffee, chocolate, and wine, Johnnie Walker’s Blenders’ Batch plans to release one special, limited-edition blend each year. Aged in first-fill bourbon casks and finished in rye casks, Red Rye Finish, is an achievement that took more than 50 experiments combining 203 malt and grain whiskies to create.
