In hopes of ensuring gamers keep trying to catch ‘em all, Niantic is bringing a major new feature to the mobile juggernaut that is Pokémon GO: daily bonuses. So how exactly does it work? According to a blog post by developer Niantic, the bonuses are as follows:

Catching a Pokémon every day will earn the following bonus:
500 XP
600 Stardust

Catching a Pokémon every day for 7 days straight will earn the following larger bonus:
2,000 XP
2,400 Stardust

Visiting a PokéStop and spinning the Photo Disc every day will earn the following bonus:
500 XP
A number of additional items

Visiting a PokéStop every day for 7 days straight will earn the following larger bonus:
2,000 XP
A greater number of additional items

Sadly, there’s no word on when exactly the update will go live, but — given the announcement — you can bet it’ll be sooner rather than later.
