Oi Polloi Joins adidas Originals for a "Manchester Marine OP" Spezial
The retailer adorns the casual sneaker with custom branding and a royal makeover.
Manchester menswear authority Oi Polloi was recently tapped by adidas Originals to give the Spezial a royal makeover. Drawing inspiration from the humble beginnings of Oi Polloi founders Steve Sanderson and Nigel Lawson selling imported adidas sneakers, the result for the current fall season is the Manchester Marine OP seen above. Dressed in premium dark blue nubuck with tonal suede overlays, the design eschews the usual “SPEZIAL” branding in favor of “MANCHESTER MRN” in gold foil alongside the serrated stripes.
Finished with special footbeds along with custom hangtags and packaging, the Manchester Marine OP will be available in limited quantities from Oi Polloi and select adidas Originals stockists come November 30.
