Google Earth VR Allows You to Experience the Entire World Through Virtual Reality
Travel to all corners of our planet without leaving your couch.
After years of work fine-tuning a virtual version of planet Earth, Google has finally brought Google Earth into the world of virtual reality. A decade after Google Earth’s inception, individuals can now fully traverse Earth’s 196.9 million square miles without leaving the comfort of home. Whether it’s flying through the mountains or stomping through streets, HTC Vive users can now do it all in the most interactive digital way possible. “Even the most active travelers can only see a fraction. What if we could see them all?” inquires Google Earth VR product manager Mike Podwal.
Google Earth VR is making its debut via the HTC Vive, and can be experienced over at Steam. Google Earth VR will be available through other mediums and platforms in 2017.
