Raf Simons Is Set to Debut His 2017 Fall/Winter Collection in NYC
The Belgian designer makes his imprint in the Big Apple for the first time.
The Council of Fashion Designers of America just announced that Raf Simons will be included in the forthcoming New York Fashion Week: Men’s lineup. This marks the first time the Belgian designer will debut his eponymous label in the Big Apple. “The CFDA is delighted to add Raf Simons to NYFW: Men’s,” said Steven Kolb, chief executive officer of the association. “Raf is one of the most influential designers on the international fashion stage. His creativity and energy are a welcome addition as we continue to grow this important platform for American menswear.”
This past August, Simons was appointed the chief creative officer position for both the men’s and women’s division at Calvin Klein. The designer has undeniably kept himself busy—helming his 21-year-old namesake label in Paris, building the much-anticipated 2017 fall/winter collection for CK as well as his ongoing collaborations with adidas.
There is no word yet on the exact venue for Simons’ presentation, but stay tuned for more details and look out for NYFW: Men’s to commence this January 30 up until February 2, 2017.
