Nike Unveils the 2016 Doernbecher Freestyle Collection
All proceeds go to a great cause.

Since launching its fundraising partnership with Portland’s OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in 2004, Nike has helped raise $14 million for the institution. Maintaining their collaborative efforts, the Swoosh now reveals the new Doernbecher Freestyle Collection for 2016. This time around, the six young Doernbecher Hospital patients chosen are Andy, Braylin, Chase, Chehayla, Corwin and Damien. “What’s most amazing for me is that when I look at the shoes and apparel, I can see the individual kids and their personalities in the product. Each piece is so true, so authentic, to the kids that they begin to be known to the consumer by the patient-designer’s name,” explains Michael Doherty, Nike’s Creative Director of Global Brand Presentation. You can check out the six new shoes from the Doernbecher Freestyle Collection above and read up on the specific stories behind the shoes here. Nike’s own explanations for the range can also be seen on its official website.
These new designs will launch on December 17 and all proceeds from sales will go to OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital.
