Jordan Peele's Thriller 'Get Out' Showcases the Horrors of White Suburbia
Think twice before you visit your girlfriend’s parents.
Written and directed by comedian Jordan Peele – known for his roles on Key & Peele and FX’s Fargo – Get Out showcases his first foray into serious horror. Peele promised the film would focus on the “the fears of being a black man today” and it looks like the film will deliver just that. With the newly released trailer, scenes are shown of the main protagonist Chris (played by Daniel Kaluuya) fleeing from dead-eyed Caucasians on par with Night of the Living Dead. Though this is no zombie film, it does focus on an eerily perfect community of yuppies in the same feel as The Stepford Wives, however with an added element of race. The trailer starts off with Chris and his girlfriend Rose on their way to visit her parents. Though it seems like her parents might not accept their interracial relationship, that’s the least of Chris’s problems, as he discover there is something more sinister going on. Get Out is set to release on February 24, 2017. Watch the creepy trailer above.
