Herman Miller’s Aeron chair has remained a workforce staple for the past two decades due to its innovative design and technology, raising the bar for performance seating. As today’s workers have evolved, the American furniture manufacturer tasked original co-creator Don Chadwick to upgrade the chair to fit modern standards. Chadwick decided to start from scratch and redesign the chair for a new generation of users. The remodeled rendition is also much lighter and comes with additional adjustments to support the spine, while retaining its recognizable silhouette. Take a look at the history of the Aeron and the ideation process of the latest version above.
