A$AP Bari on VLONE A$AP Rocky, Lil Uzi Vert and Why He's Like the X-Men
“I’m Professor X just trying to bring people together to change the world.”

A$AP Bari of VLONE, the cult-fashion label he founded with fellow group member A$AP Rocky, recently sat down with Vogue to talk about just what VLONE is about and what to expect in the future. During the talk, Bari compares the label to the X-Men and himself to Professor X, in how he puts together a group of misfits with different creative skills. When asked about the future of VLONE, Bari notes that the label will continue with its rare and exclusive drops and to expect “Leather Rain” — although we will have to wait till next season to find out what that exactly means. Additionally, Bari goes into discussing what Lil Uzi Vert means to the culture and his longstanding partnership with Rocky. Check out the full interview here and take a look at the accompanying VLONE lookbook featuring Lil Uzi Vert above.
And while one of the results of this brainstorm—a series of tees scrawled with the message Every living creative dies alone—might make one feel as if A$APs Bari and Rocky are feeling pessimistic, well, that’s not the case at all. “The meaning is not literal in the sense of ‘Oh, I have to be living alone,’” said Bari, “it’s to wear the brand and feel connected to something bigger.”
