An Unseen Version of 'The Godfather Epic' Is Being Aired on HBO
7.5 hours of never-before-scene footage cut in chronological order
HBO is bringing Francis Ford Coppola’s gangster saga back in a newly remastered version, featuring a 424-minute long film with scenes from The Godfather and The Godfather Part II pieced together in chronological order. The Godfather Epic includes extras missing from the original theatrical release, along with uncensored scenes from NBC’s 1997 adapted version of the trilogy titled The Godfather: A Novel For Television — which also included commercials. This is also reportedly the first time since The Coppola Restoration of the DVD and Blu-ray versions of the film that the scenes have been reworked sequentially.
