Givenchy’s Paris Fashion Week presentation draws upon the idea of Americana in all its glory: not only is there a Wild West aesthetic to the fringed jackets, burnt tones, leather outerwear and loosely-tied American flag bandanas around the models’ necks, the collection also nods toward the vintage band tee trend for graphics inspired by Iron Maiden and Nirvana merchandise. The appropriated logos and fonts are printed onto pieces like bomber jackets and pea coats; the line also introduced coats with scarf-like detailing which contribute to elaborate, tonal fits.
Riccardo Tisci himself took a bow in a classic low-key outfit completed with crisp white Nike Air Force One Lows, rounding out a strong showing for the haute streetwear brand.
