David Sims x Raf Simons 2016 Spring/Summer "Isolated Heroes" Collection
Using portraits taken from the duo’s ambitious 1999 photography book of the same name.
Photographer David Sims and designer Raf Simons first came together to work on an ambitious fashion photography book called Isolated Heroes, a collection of portraits taken in the summer of 1999 of non-professional models street-cast by Raf Simons himself. Each figure was garbed with the designer’s Spring/Summer 2000 collection and is depicted with the transfixed gaze hallmark to David Sims’ portraits. Drawing images from this photo series, the two icons have unveiled a collaborative collection of the same name. The range offers a selection of monochromatic pieces, including parkas, sweaters and bags. Each item is emblazoned with a large-scale black and white profile from the original book. The David Sims x Raf Simons “Isolated Heroes” collection is available now at select retailers such as colette.
