Christopher Raeburn 2016 Fall/Winter Collection
The British designer goes for a very much restrained showing this season.

Fresh off his secondary gig designing outdoors apparel for Victorinox, Christopher Raeburn presents his newest collection for the Fall/Winter 2016 season at London Collections Men. While he has garnered a reputation for his eco-conscious designs that have “re-made” anything from life rafts to military fabrics in striking configurations, Christopher Raeburn has since toned down his more experimental endeavors in light of aligning his brand with more commercial interests — think representation at Dover Street Market, Selfridges and Harrods. Raeburn said, “The other thing for me, being honest, is that it’s exciting growing up with the brand. Maybe there are things that I designed five years ago that I’m too old for now.” The collection itself proved to have many marketable pieces — taking inspiration from Mongolian dress, Raeburn focused on wide-yarn knits alongside raindrop camouflage and leopard prints. Closing the show with snow ponchos made from recycled army material, Raeburn still managed to deliver a small dose of his quirk, although that may play an ever-smaller role in his creation process in future collections.
