Boston-based artist Ari Weinkle has created a series of biological lettering in a project dubbed Growths. In it, beautifully simple calligraphy explodes into furry fungi giving life into an otherwise still form of art. In an interview with The Creators Project, the artist notes:

“Since my last typography project, Feelers, I’ve been considering the underlying typography a lot more. I’m trying to create things that are less “gross” but still remain organic and intricate with a strong concept behind them.”
