J.W.Anderson Challenges Gender Stereotypes in Loewe's 2016 Fall/Winter Collection
Understanding the often misunderstood beauty of androgyny in contemporary fashion design.

Having snowballed into one of contemporary fashion’s most notable young designers, Irish-born J.W.Anderson has leaped from strength to strength following triumphs such as that endured during 2015’s British Fashion Awards. Having taken up the lead as Loewe’s creative director some three years ago, J.W.Anderson continues to push his androgynous take on design through the Spanish label’s latest 2016 fall/winter collection lookbook. By experimenting with the silhouettes of everyday clothing pieces, Anderson has adapted each design’s form to playfully skew the line between masculine and feminine attire. The collection’s array of billowing layers and flamboyant jeweled accessories lend themselves well to the shoot’s arid backdrop as it references a more adventurous and somewhat safari-like direction. Enjoy the lookbook above and head to Loewe’s official website for more information on its future endeavors with J.W.Anderson.
