Air Jordan 2 "Alternate '87" Close-Ups and Release Date
A nod to the Chicago Bulls.

After Jordan Brand released news of its “Alternate” pack back in June, the highly-anticipated Air Jordan 2 “Alternate ‘87” has been given an official release date just ahead of the NBA’s All-Star Weekend. Donning a classic “Bred” colorway with tumbled black leather and tinges of bright red, the design hints at a potential model that would have been worn by MJ during one of his best seasons. Additional details include luxe panels of snakeskin-like texture and the number ‘23’ stitched inside the tongue of the shoe. Elements of the original design such as the “Wings” logo (which preceded the “Jumpman” upon the release of the Air Jordan 3) and the Nike emblem on the heel remain, harking back to the sneaker’s retro identity.
