Nike Pays Homage to Ronaldinho With the Tiempo Legend "Touch of Gold"
Nike celebrates the 10th anniversary of the football legend’s record-breaking “Crossbar” video.
A decade ago, Nike presented then Barcelona star Ronaldinho with a golden edition of the Air Legend Tiempo, a boot the Brazilian international then laced up in “Crossbar” — the very first YouTube video to garner over 1 million views. Now, 10 years later, Nike is paying homage to the achievement and football legend with a celebratory “Touch of Gold” take on the Tiempo Legend. Like the original, the new release comes in an all-white leather upper while metallic gold accents appear throughout. This time, however, the boot sports a gradient treatment along the sole plate that transitions from a clean white forefoot to a golden hue while finishing touches include Ronaldinho’s name along the plates as his signature R10 logo appears on the tongue. Individually numbered, just 3,000 pairs of the “Touch of Gold” release have been crafted and will soon be made available at select stockists.
