YG is going to make the forefathers of West Coast gangsta rap proud with this new one. For the first single off his next album Still Krazy, the Compton rapper links up with TDE beatsmith Terrace Martin for “My Fingaz.” YG and Terrace Martin’s funk-filled creation sounds like something that could function as a hit at both present time and a G-Funk era summer 20 years ago. While YG earned his current spot due to his work alongside DJ Mustard, it looks like he’s taking a step in a different direction for the next move in his career. In a statement released to The FADER about the song, YG calls his new release “a statement record,” while adding that he’s using the song as a way of ”letting everybody know I’m back and still krazy.” You can listen to YG’s latest above.
