Samsung Galaxy Tab S2
The Korean tech giant unveils its thinnest tablet to date.

Samsung has followed up last week’s unveiling of the Galaxy A8 — its slimmest smartphone to date — with the announcement of its thinnest-ever tablet: the Galaxy Tab S2. The successor to last year’s Galaxy Tab S, the new tablet is just 5.6mm thick, making it even thinner than the 6.1mm of Apple’s iPad Air. Offered in both 8” and 9.7” sizes, the Galaxy Tab S2 boasts a 2048 x 1536 pixel super AMOLED display, an 8-megapixel rear camera, a 2.1-megapixel front camera, runs Android 5.0 Lollipop, and features an octo-core processor of four 1.9GHz cores and four 1.3GHz cores, 3GB RAM, and either 32 or 64GB of on-board storage. Though pricing has yet to be announced, the Galaxy Tab S2 is due out in both white and black this August.
