Diplo Did Not Expect Success of "Where Are Ü Now"

At this past weekend’s Wireless Festival, Diplo and his Major Lazer sat down with CapitalFM for a brief interview. An interesting takeaway was the producer’s thoughts on the successful of his collaborative single with Skrillex, under the Jack Ü banner, titled “Where Are Ü Now” which also features Justin Bieber. The Mad Decent founder revealed that he was surprised the song has reached its current immense success. Take a look at the excerpt from the interview below.

Justin’s a homie. I’m surprised the record went as far as it’s gone, in America it’s going crazy right now. [He’s] a polarizing figure so no matter what we do, you’re going to have to pay attention to it and if we can make something amazing that like everybody can love, pop fans, people who are critics, people who are into rap music. If we can get a whole across the board crowd excited about the record then we have achieved something.
