Toro Y Moi Talks Past Jobs, Playful Logos and T-Shirt Designs
“My first job was at Chick-fil-A, I would always come back to school the next day smelling like fried chicken.”
Chaz Bundick, or Toro Y Moi as he is better known, spoke with Yours Truly in an informal interview that took place at Yes Press, a screen printing studio in Oakland. Bundick’s relatable responses reference the importance of pursuing creative passions, whether it be noting how he used to draw on reciept paper in between lunch time rushes at Chick-fil-A or staying true to his creative integrity in all of his artistic projects. In the video we get to see one of his playful illustrations progress from simple sketch to a completed graphic-print t-shirt all the while being treated to his positively focussed insight, illustrating how his talents extend far beyond the music industry.
