Paddle8 to Auction Exclusive New KAWS Figures
Rising art and design auction house Paddle 8 has secured some rare iterations of KAWS’ archival vinyl work.
For many, vinyl toys not only represent limited-edition collaborations between underground brands and pop culture, also a rare sliver of a high time – a renaissance, perhaps – in street culture. Cool-guy auctioning platform Paddle8 has assembled some pieces from KAWS’ library of Companion figures, including rare Star Wars and Disney-inspired options as well as recent pieces inspired by the larger-scale “Resting Place” and “Passing Through” series. It seems as if Paddle8 is seeking to curate a kind of new wave selection for its audience, as the auctioneer has also accrued exclusive pieces from Jeff Koons, Ron English and Medicom Toy’s iconic Be@rbrick collection.
