Nike Sportswear continues to drop patriotic kicks for this year’s Independence Day holiday, this time taking a different route than the usual red, white and blue executions to instead pay homage to Lady Liberty. Dubbed the “Preserved Icons,” this pair of Statue of Liberty-inspired Air Force 1s dons a heat-activated copper-hued upper that changes color to green — thus reflecting the transformation the statue has gone through since 1886. The kicks even sport lace jewels that mimic the look of the statue’s torch while the unique green hue makes additional appearances on the tongue branding badge and star-patterned insoles.

Look for the color-changing kicks to hit select NSW stockists just in time for this Saturday’s July 4 celebration.
