'Snowden' Official Teaser Trailer Starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt

Open Road Films has offered up the first look at Oliver Stone’s upcoming Snowden by way of an eerie teaser trailer. Due to star Joseph Gordon-Levitt as whistleblower Edward Snowden, the political thriller is based on the books The Snowden Files by Luke Harding and Time of the Octopus by Anatoly Kucherena and will document Snowden’s rise from a 21-year-old army recruit to most wanted man in the world by the age of 29. About a-minute-and-a-half in length, the footage-free teaser concludes with an upside-down American flag and the phrase “One nation, under surveillance, for liberty and justice for all.”

Snowden — whose cast also includes Shailene Woodley, Melissa Leo, Zachary Quinto, Tom Wilkinson and Timothy Olyphant — is due to hit theaters December 25, 2015.
