MSGM 2016 Spring/Summer Collection
Massimo Giorgetti takes MSGM into intricate knits and crochets for the spring.
Borne out of a reputation for stunning prints, Massimo Giorgetti’s MSGM has been trying to stray away from that path in seasons of late. Hence, for 2016 spring/summer, we’re expecting a more mature palette in lieu of the colorful and poppy prints the brand may have been known for. But while there was no print in sight, Giorgetti tried his hand on a new medium — this time centered around crochet. Inspired by knit-bombing, a form of street art that incorporates knits, Giorgetti produced stunning crochet pieces and shapely knits, offering a much-needed stray in textural difference from the rest of the honestly predictable pieces. But the earthy tone MSGM is striving for juxtaposes what used to be, a strong showing of a growing brand and a good effort from Giorgetti in elevating its style.
