RCA Records is set to release a Nina Simone tribute album on July 10, titled Nina Revisited: A Tribute To Nina Simone. The LP will be paired with Nina’s forthcoming documentary What Happened, Miss Simone?, and features artists such as Lauryn Hill, Mary J. Blige, Common, Usher, Gregory Porter, Jazmine Sullivan, and Nina’s daughter, Lisa Simone. Originally slated to do two songs instead of six, Lauryn shares: “Because I fed on this music, both hers and lovers like her, like my basic food, I believed I always had a right to have a voice. Her example is clearly a form of sustenance to a generation needing to find theirs. What a gift.” Listen to Ms. Hill’s cover of one of Nina’s most well known tracks, “Feeling Good,” below and check out the tracklist.
