The COMME des GARÇONS SHIRT show represents both Boy and SHIRT out of CDG’s myriad of lines, with Boy starting the show off. Featuring a variety of pullovers, v-necks and general lounge pieces adorning the label’s three letters, the beginning show illustrated a young boy much as the brand’s name embodies. Its simple and youthful aesthetic was preppy and simple. Eventually, the show made way for SHIRT, undeniably the star of the morning. Simplicity continued, but models now donned frizzy wigs. A punkish vibe began to emerge, with cutouts, holes and buckles emerging. The ingenuity came when negative space was addressed, tracing shapes and placed over contrasting fabrics. COMME des GARÇONS SHIRT makes another strong case for its whimsical and cheeky pieces that are still wearable.
