Coach 2016 Spring Collection
“Kennedy boys meet Beach Boys meet Beastie Boys” in Coach’s 2016 spring collection.
For its first ever runway showing, Coach’s menswear line transformed the traditional straight and narrow catwalk into a beautifully designed skatepark to complement its vibrant spring collection. Centered around a colorful array of psychedelic designs and various animal prints, Creative Director Stuart Vevers said its overall theme is a juxtaposition of “Kennedy boys meet Beach Boys meet Beastie Boys.” As a renowned luggage maker, a bevy of irreverent bags appeared along the tiny halfpipes, including a reimagined “hip pack” that may inspire style’s elite to rethink the once forgotten accessory. Utility and authenticity, reworked with a playful, surf-punk attitude, the iconic New York-based fashion imprint seems to have already found its place in men’s ready-to-wear fashion less than a year from its inception.
