A Behind-the-Scenes Look at Kapital's First-Ever Runway Show

Japanese Americana-inspired label Kapital, though more than three decades old, had never made an appearance on the runway prior to this year. That all changed last month when the father and son duo behind the label, Toshikiyo and Kazuhiro Hirata, highlighted their Fall/Winter 2015 collection with Kapital’s first-ever appearance on the catwalk. Taking to an intimate venue in Hiroshima, Kazuhiro commented:

Generally I’ve never been a big fan of runway shows. I thought, ‘How realistic is it to wear the clothes you see on the runway?’… Lately I’ve felt something of a turning point. I have no idea what is going to happen. Still I believe in the power of our creation.
