PREMIERE: Bonkaz – We Run The Block (All About She Remix)

With a watering hole of new talent emerging from London this year -– particularly with the spotlight being shone onto the Grime scene as of late – South Londoner Bonkaz has cemented himself at the forefront of this new wave of interest. His recent release, “We Run The Block,” has received co-signs from a plethora of reputable names, from the likes of BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra’s Huw Stephens, Charlie Sloth, Mistajam, DJ Semtex, DJ Target, and most recently Annie Mac, who gave listeners the first listen to this All About She remix on Friday night. Recently recording an incredible freestyle on Toddla T’s show (which caught the attention of Drake following a snippet of his verse being posted on Giggs’ Instagram), take a listen to All About She’s rendition of the conflagrant original.

“We were first drawn to Bonkaz music when we saw the ‘We Run The Block’ video. He has an original vibe and his tone is super dope. We were in a session with him a few months ago working on some new tracks and thought we could make a banging remix of the original track. We wanted to make something we could play in our club and festivals sets that would also be fresh for the summer. This remix is heavily house inspired, with a slightly faster tempo, which gives it a nostalgic vibe. Bonkaz is part of the new generation of Grime/UK Rap and we believe he’s going to do great things for the UK music scene.” – All About She
