Nike Takes a Look at Mexico City's Small-Sided Soccer Culture

Ahead of the Copa America 2015, Nike is looking at how small-sided games influence the development of soccer in Latin America. Nike takes us first to Mexico City, where it is home to three top-flight soccer teams among many semi-professional and amateur leagues. Soccer is within Mexico City’s veins, touching its entire 20 million population. But Mexicans have been inspired by its country’s performance, with a London 2012 gold and a convincing performance at last year’s World Cup under their belts. The country wholeheartedly believe that another ace tournament is in the works and are getting pumped for the Copa America coming up June 11-July 4. This red hot enthusiasm is further fueled by the fact that more and more young Mexican players are breaking into the top European leagues. Head over to Nike here to check out the Mexico City feature for the Inside Small-Sided series, with Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires and Santiago coming soon.
