Independent clothing brand DURKL opens its first flagship store in Washington, D.C. called Maketto. An all-encompassing retail concept, DURKL’s flagship store is a 5,600-square-foot space which offers quality retail, culinary, cafe and bar experiences. Along with a full range of DURKL’s clothing and apparel, footwear and magazines, Maketto also carries an array of lifestyle brands from around the world, including Porter, Wood Wood and HUMAN MADE. Smooth, polished wood adorns the floors and stairs as refined black beams provide a complementing contrast to the open space. A delicate, white coating decorates the walls and ceilings as adjacent light fixtures provide the finishing touches to the concept store. Retail aside, Maketto’s restaurant offers a fusion of Cambodian and Taiwanese cooking, while its cafe serves up freshly roasted coffee and a range of delicious in-house baked pastries.
