BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage

Following last week’s preview, BMW has officially unveiled its 3.0 CSL Hommage coupe – a tribute to one of its great sports cars, the 1972 BMW E9 3.0 CSL. Painted in “golf yellow,” this concept coupe takes cues from the original 3.0 CSL whilst juxtaposed against contemporary BMW designs, including the 6 series and i8. So while the original was built with angular lines, this model is much more curvy. Its front features a massive grille, fenders that fold over the hood, and laser headlights with X-shaped centers inspired by old race cars. The Hommage CSL also features a large rear wing, a roof spoiler, the use of carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic throughout, and an eye-catching rear lighting system.
