Tumblr Launches Tumblr 4.0 for iOS

Tumblr has unveiled an extensive expansion of its iOS application with the launch of Tumblr 4.0. The update includes a number of features that were previously only available on the desktop version, like being able to quickly create a secondary blog, submitting to submission blogs, and filtering searches by post type – photos, videos or chats. A new “Today” widget allows Apple iOS 8 users to view trending topics from Tumblr, while the ability to simply copy and paste video URLs for video posts is also incorporated in the new 4.0 version. The Tumblr update has been out since 7 a.m. EDT this morning so expect to spend a lot more time microblogging on the go.
