Samantha Duenas aka SoSuperSam is a well-known and highly regarded DJ from Los Angeles. Yesterday, we featured an interview with the Soulection member, where she shared with us her journey as a DJ and as a musician. In our conversation, we learned that despite having a constantly packed schedule, she has so far been able to keep her head fixated upon what is important, letting readers know what it takes to thrive in this hectic industry. She details: “Always give your best effort, whether one person is watching you DJ or 50,000 people are watching. Be hungry, don’t be thirsty. There is absolutely a difference.” And the industry rule number one? “Treat everyone with equal and utmost importance, treat every gig like it is the most important gig of your life.” Sounds about right to us; her wisdom is probably largely attributed to her success in both the music and fashion industries. Today, she shares with us her Music Essentials, as well as a few important lifestyle items. To make sure she’s always ready to throw a party, Sam carries with her what she calls her “technical kit”: laptop, control vinyl, slipmats, needles, USB sticks and cables. She also shares with us her “beauty kit”: lip balm, face mist, lotion, argan oil, lip closs and a bit of makeup to keep everything looking 100% especially during long travel days.
