Canadian luggage maker Nocturnal Workshop and design atelier lululemon lab have teamed up for a 2015 spring/summer collection for both sexes, all made in Vancouver. The minimalist range is composed of seven pieces: a lightweight anorak, a unisex crewneck sweater, a T-shirt, a men’s jogger pant, a pair of women’s tights, a backpack and a tote bag. The capsule embraces form and function with the incorporation of a unique reflective fabric that remains an inconspicuous black at day and illuminates the wearer at night for nighttime visibility. Fine detailing includes invisible pockets and magnetic closures. The collection aimed to capture the phrase “awaken the night,” catering to by the “5-9ers” — a group of people who live outside of the average schedule in pursuit of their passions — carrying wearers from night to day in both safety and style.
Photographed by Jeremy Lee, the lookbook was shot in various parts of Vancouver and highlights the garments’ 24/7 practicality. The collection will be available in limited quantity (production run of 30-70 pieces per style), in store May 7 and online May 8.
