Liberty x Nike 2015 Summer "Merlin" Collection

London-based and Nike team up on a retro-inspired footwear and apparel range for the upcoming summer season. This playful ”Merlin” print was taken from a silk scarf that was originally designed by the British retailer in 1972, and adorns the uppers of the recently reintroduced Air Rift, Air Max 90 Ultra, Zenji, Tennis Classic Ultra, Air Max Thea, and the classic Cortez silhouettes. An all-over print windrunner jacket, sleeve-printed tees, and a Liberty cap make up the apparel offering. The throwback geometric shawl design was chosen for its unusual design and combined with Nike’s contemporary designs, the collection exhibits the intersection of the past and present for something truly unique. Both the footwear and apparel collections will be available exclusively at Liberty London on April 23, followed by a Nike Sportswear retailer release for the Liberty x Nike Air Rift on May 4, while the rest of the collection is set to drop on May 15.
