On Pedder is currently hosting La Chute (The Fall), an award-winning photo exhibition by French photographer Denis Darzacq, at one of its Hong Kong boutiques. Shot with a manual camera, the series focuses on young street dancers in urban settings. Darzacq captured bodies mid-action during full force movement, yet the un-edited imagery depicts them in static positions, hovering above concrete pavements. It’s as realistic as it seems illusory. The series is inspired by the French riots and carries themes that encompass the idea of France’s youth being in a freefall limbo, largely ignored by the rest of society. La Chute won the World Press Photo prize in the “arts and entertainment” category back in 2007. In addition to the exhibition, On Pedder will also be offering the shop’s 2015 spring/summer collection, as well as a range of footwear from Hender Scheme, Common Projects, George Cleverley, Mr. Hare, Nicholas Kirkwood and Miharayasuhiro.
