If you thought the sultry “FourFiveSeconds” single already had a stacked line up of Rihanna, Kanye West and Paul McCartney, think again. Billboard reports that Yeezus himself also enlisted the help of ’90s pop group Wilson Phillips to sing backup vocals. In an interview with Carnie Wilson, the singer behind such tracks as “Hold On,” and “Release Me,” revealed that West reached out to them specifically because of their ‘angelic’ and ‘authentic’ sound. Additionally, Carnie admitted that Kanye was quite shy at first until the music started playing and he could start his creative process. The female group can be heard, especially on the bridge and the chorus. While the single was a unified vision, Kanye instructed the girls to rehearse their vocals outside of the studio in order to retain that original, honest sound.
