Kendrick Lamar’s newest album To Pimp A Butterfly is already off and running with flying colors, garnering massive amounts of critical acclaim just weeks after its release. However, did you know the Compton rapper’s second studio album almost went by another name? In a series of interviews done with MTV, Kendrick reveals the initial title of the album was meant to be To Pimp A Caterpillar. In the clip, Lamar further describes that the abbreviation of the scrapped album title, T P A C, was the abbreviation of iconic rapper Tupac and would need to be changed.
