French multimedia artist JR has released the first official trailer for his latest endeavor, Les Bosquets. Due out later this year, the film brings the audience to “a place where art and the power of image interweave” and is based on the story of Ladj Ly and last year’s performance of the New York City Ballet’s Les Bosquets (which was inspired by the 2005 riots in the France’s suburbs), revealing JR’s own experiences in the ghetto of Montfermeil where he created his very first project, Portrait of a Generation. A continuation of the ongoing “10 Years Project” (in which everything from video archives, choreography and testimony have appeared), Les Bosquets will show exclusively at select museums and galleries in the coming months and looks to feature original music from the likes of Pharrell Williams, Hans Zimmer, Woodkid and Ben Wallfisch.
Check out the initial trailer for the film above and stay tuned for more regarding JR and Les Bosquets.
