'The Artist is Absent: A Short Film On Martin Margiela' Trailer

Italian online retailer YOOX Group has released The Artist is Absent: A Short Film On Martin Margiela, a documentary that explores the mysteriously enigmatic Belgian fashion designer, Martin Margiela. Directed by New York filmmaker Alison Chernick, the documentary was selected for the 2015 edition of the Tribeca Film Festival and features appearances from a slew of fashion industry notables, including designers Raf Simons and Jean Paul Gaultier, British fashion journalist Suzy Menkes, and Belgian retail entrepreneur Geert Bruloot, who was the first person to discover the designer’s talents. Margiela is widely known for shying away from public appearances and his affinity for remaining completely behind the scenes of his work. Check out the trailer for the documentary above.
