Research firm Piper Jaffray recently conducted its semiannual Taking Stock With Teens survey to find out the top brands favored by teens at the moment, and Nike crushes the game by dominating the apparel and footwear categories. Having included about 6,200 of teens with an average age of 16 years old, the survey exposes the widespread popularity for the multinational brand which topped lists consistently for multiple seasons from Fall 2013 to Spring 2015. Nike sits at the number one spot in “Preferred Clothing Brands” with 19% votes, followed by a mixed ranking of the likes of Forever 21, American Eagle, Ralph Lauren, Hollister, Victoria’s Secret, PacSun, Aeropostale and H&M. It completely dominated the “Preferred Footwear Brands” category with 46% of votes, while Vans sits at number two with a mere 9%. Note that Nike’s main competitors — such as adidas and Under Armour — don’t even come close to Nike’s rankings on the footwear list. It will be interesting to see if such brands will be dedicating more focus on reaching out to the teenage demographic this year. Check out the full story over at Business Insider.
