An official trailer to the upcoming sci-fi comedy film Pixels surfaces on the web today. Featuring Adam Sandler, Kevin James and Peter Dinklage, the official trailer begins with an account of NASA’s infamous space missions in 1982, which were performed in order to contact other lifeforms. Aliens have misinterpreted the video feeds of arcade games as a declaration of war and soon attack the Earth using giant pixelated models of the arcade games. President William Cooper, played by Kevin James, contacts ’80s video game champion Sam Brenner, played by Adam Sandler, to assemble a team of arcaders to defeat the aliens and save the planet. View the trailer above and anticipate Pixels to release in theaters on July 24.
