Odd Future frontman Tyler, the Creator is reportedly widening the group’s ever-expanding brand into the realm of Internet TV. At a Code/Media conference in Las Vegas, the Wolf mastermind divulged some very ambitious ideas about reviving the dead “music television” era by joining with Wharlock industries, a Santa Monica based company that creates content for celebrity internet channels, and creating a new Internet TV Channel. By creating a new avenue for content similar to Cartoon Network or MTV, Tyler says he hopes to draw audiences over from other big name services like Netflix and Hulu. No easy feat, as these two titans have a massive monopoly over the market, however, Ty, along with is manager Christian Clancy, believe the promise of freedom and creativity will win subscribers. Certainly a bold move, nevertheless, Tyler has, in his young age, demonstrated a keen business intellect and a strong popularity among the younger generation so perhaps the future of Internet TV is open to getting a little odd.
