One of the most decorated athletes to represent the Air Jordan mantra has called it quits in a classic manner. NBA Champion and three-time All Star Richard “Rip” Hamilton appeared on ESPN’s His & Hers to announce his retirement from the NBA after 14 seasons. Having not set foot on the court since the 2012-2013 NBA season, the broadcast did not come as a surprise, however, Hamilton’s choosing to do so with the Don C x Air Jordan 2 sneakers laced around his neck served as an unforgettable final nod. For the better part of his career, Rip ran across screens, and swished pull-up jumpers donning Air Jordan PE shoes, which always caught the eyes of sneakerheads. Although he did not formally hang up his jersey in the traditional custom of playing his last game, followed by a closing reception, Rip Hamilton still managed to effectively close the book on his commendable professional basketball career, in his familiar, flashy style.
