As Dubai evolves, so too does the city’s inhabitants and their expectations of what’s to come. After an initial teaser of “Raw Metropolis” dropped in January comes the full release which explores how Dubai is finding its cultural identity through a variety of clashing stylistic expressions and subcultures. Written and directed by Amirah Tajdin of Seven Thirty Films, the documentary is comprised of a series of video portraits facilitated by Sole DXB, a platform through which cultural enthusiasts all over the UAE can communicate, share opinions and inspirations, and set new trends for the region. Shot in the back of a car that weaves through geometrically abstract and stylized shots of cityscapes it features ALIFE, Dave Lubin & Tom Crane (Mental Genius Records), Olaf Hussein, Guillaume Philibert (Filling Pieces), Daily Paper, Kish Kash, Dan Greenpeace, Brad Farrant and Sole DXB founders.
