Urban Fabric Series 001 Brings Asian Artistry to the Forefront of Dubai’s Design World
A cross-cultural design tapestry by 7 Asian artists.

Dubai’s Gallery Collectional introduces URBAN FABRIC Series 001, a pioneering exhibit that blends Asian artistic innovation with Dubai’s rich cultural mosaic. Curated by Yoko Choy, this series features 28 unique artworks from seven leading Asian artists. Choy describes the exhibition as “a reflection of Dubai’s multicultural essence, a canvas where traditional craftsmanship meets contemporary innovation.”
The featured artists, Kensaku Oshiro, Kuo Duo (Hwachan Lee and Yoomin Maeng), Kwangho Lee, Mario Tsai, Studio Swine (Alexander Groves and Azusa Murakami), Teo Yang, and Tiffany Loy, showcase their diverse backgrounds and innovative approaches to design. From Oshiro’s light-reflecting Onyx tables to Kwangho Lee’s 3D-printed reinterpretations of traditional knotting, each piece tells a unique story of heritage fused with modernity. Kuo Duo’s upcycled plastic furniture and Tiffany Loy’s intricate woven sculptures underscore the exhibition’s commitment to sustainability and the innovative use of materials.
URBAN FABRIC Series 001 is more than an exhibition; it’s a platform for dialogue on the evolving role of design in society. Set in the cultural hub of Dubai, the series exemplifies the city’s role as a crossroads of innovation and tradition, inviting viewers to engage with the works and contemplate the future trajectory of contemporary design. Each artist, through their distinct lens, contributes to a global conversation on craftsmanship, sustainability, and the essence of art in the modern world.
This captivating exhibit is open from March 2-31 at Gallery Collectional, Dubai. Offering a rare glimpse into the future of design through the eyes of seven visionary artists.
