As promised, the Nike and designer Eric Avar have unveiled the Black Mamba’s latest signature sneaker. The future hall-of-famer has always obsessed over the details of his kicks and the upcoming Kobe 11 is no different. After incorporating Flyknit in both the Kobe 9 and 10, Bryant and Avar looked to perfect the technology for wear on the hardwood. The result is a simplified, familiar low-top silhouette that allows the tech to do the talking as pearlescent TPU threads — debuting here for the very first time — are incorporated throughout and represent a stronger, more supportive evolution for Nike’s knit. Cushioning comes in the form of full-length Lunarlon foam and a Zoom unit in the heel.
Debuting in a special “Achilles Heel” make-up — a nod to the seemingly indestructible Greek god, as well as Kobe’s recovery from 2013’s season-ending Achilles surgery — the Kobe 11 is set to launch January 9, 2016 across the globe.
